Who we are

This website is operated by Carpets Plus Ltd (“Carpets Plus”, “we”, “us”), an independent flooring retailer based at Barker St, Norwich NR2 4TQ. For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, Carpets Plus Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

What personal data we collect

We only collect personal data you choose to give us, namely:

• Contact form submissions — your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message.
• Direct enquiries — anything you tell us by phone, email, or in person at our showroom, including details needed to provide a quote (e.g. property address, room measurements).

We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies on this website, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

How we use your data

We use your personal data only to:

• Respond to your enquiry and provide quotes or advice;
• Arrange measuring, estimating, and fitting appointments;
• Fulfil any order or contract you enter into with us, including invoicing and after-sales support; and
• Meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Our legal basis for this processing is your consent (given when you submit our contact form), and, once you engage us for work, the performance of a contract with you. Where we need to keep records for accounting or legal reasons, our legal basis is legal obligation.

Who we share your data with

We use a small number of trusted third-party services (data processors) to run this website and respond to enquiries:

• FormSubmit — processes contact form submissions and forwards them to our inbox by email. FormSubmit does not use your data for any purpose of its own; see their policy at formsubmit.co/privacy-policy.
• Vercel — hosts this website. Standard technical server logs (e.g. IP address, browser type) may be processed briefly for security and reliability, in line with Vercel’s own privacy policy.
• Google Maps — on our Contact page, we only load an embedded Google map, and any associated Google cookies, if you actively click “Show map”. See Google’s Privacy Policy for how they handle data at that point.

We never sell your personal data, and we do not share it with any other third party except where required by law.

Cookies

This website does not set any cookies on your first visit. The only cookies used are third-party cookies set by Google Maps, and only after you click “Show map” on our Contact page. You can decline this at any time by simply not clicking that button, and you can clear any cookies already set via your browser settings.

How long we keep your data

We keep contact form enquiries and correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you and, if you become a customer, for the duration of our relationship plus six years afterwards to meet UK accounting and tax record-keeping requirements. We delete enquiries that don’t lead to any further contact after a reasonable period.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Ask us what personal data we hold about you, and why;
• Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• Ask us to delete your data, or restrict how we use it, in certain circumstances;
• Ask us to provide your data in a portable format, or transfer it to another organisation;
• Object to our processing of your data; and
• Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent to process your data.

To exercise any of these rights, email sales@carpetsplus.co.uk. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Keeping your data secure

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to industry standards to keep your information safe.

Children’s privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start using a new service that processes personal data. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top.
